In the midst of a World filled with deception, Jesus forewarned His followers: “See to it that no one misleads you…..Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.” Matt 24.
The Apostle John with the same sentiment, warned the Christians, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 Jn 1:4
Even in the early days of the Church, false teachers were already causing havoc, such that the Apostle Paul wrote to the Church of Christ in Galatia, saying “I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel” Gal 1:4.
How did these false teachers do this? Paul explains; “there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.”
We have become accustomed to deceptions, warned about bank scams and social media cons, not to mention all those exaggerated product claims and fake news stories, it's tough to tell what's genuine and what's a trap.
Did you know that denominationalism is condemned?" Bet you didn’t. Have you ever thought of all the different so called churches, teaching different things, contradicting each other, but some how all acceptable to God? Gods view is clear, “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.” Matt 7:13. In that same chapter, a stunning warning to all, by Jesus! “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from ME, you who practice lawlessness.” Matt 7:21-23.
You don’t have to be deceived. That’s why we have done this message. Will you take up a Bible and study that same Bible so you can “understand what the will of the Lord is”? Eph 5:17
